During the war, the number of hostile cyberattacks in 2023 increased significantly compared to last year.

The State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine states that the intensity of Russian cyberattacks has not decreased since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia.

In particular, the Cyber Incident Response Center of the State Center for Cyber Defense records an increase in the number of campaigns for the mass collection of user credentials by sending dangerous emails.

Both institutions and organizations as well as individual users become victims of a cyber attack. The government and local authorities, as well as the defense, financial, and energy sectors, are the most frequently attacked. Transport infrastructure and the telecom industry also remain in the focus of cybercriminals.
